Lord Vinayagar is the foremost deity. He is loved by everyone, from children to elders. It is a common practice among Hindus to first worship Lord Vinayagar every morning before worshiping any other deity. To ensure success in our endeavors, it is beneficial to recite the Kaarya Siddhi Maalai daily.
This Kaarya Siddhi Maalai was originally composed in Sanskrit by Kashyapa Maharishi and later translated into Tamil by Kachiyappa Munivar for our benefit.
1. Bandham Agathum Anantha Guna Parappum Yevanm Pal Udhikkumo,
Yenda Ulagum Yevanidathil Yeendi Irundhu Surakkumo,
Chanda Marai Aagama Kalaigl Anaithum Yevan Pal Thaga Varumo,
Andha Irayaam Ganapathiyai, Anbu Koora Thozhukindrom.
We lovingly bow to Lord Ganapathi,
From whom countless noble qualities arise.
He severs all worldly attachments completely,
To whom all the worlds surrender and flourish.
The Vedas, poetic meters, sacred rituals,
And all forms of art eagerly seek to dwell with Him always.
2. Ulagam Muzhudum Neekamara Ondray Nirkkum Porul Yeva Avv-,
Ulagil Pirakkum Vigarangal Uraatha Melaam Oliyaavan,
Ulagam Puriyum Vinai Ppayanai Ootungalaikkan Yevan Antha,
Ulaga Mudhalana Ganapathiyai Uvanthu Saran Adaikirom.
We joyfully surrender to that eternal Lord Ganapathi,
Who pervades the entire universe without exception,
Who shines as the pure, untainted light beyond worldly emotions,
And who dissolves the consequences of fate born from this world.
3. Idargal Muzhudham Yevan Arulal, Yeri Veezhum Panju Yen Maayum,
Thodarum Uyirgal Yevan Arulal, Surar Vaazh Pathiyum Ura Cheyyum,
Kadavul Mudhalor Kkooru Indri Karumam Yevanal Mudivu Urum Ath-
Thadavu Maruppu Ganapathi Pon Charanam Saranam Adaikindrom.
We bow at the golden feet of Lord Ganapathi, the remover of obstacles,
Who destroys all troubles like fire consuming cotton,
Who uplifts bound souls to dwell in the realm of the Devas,
And who ensures our tasks are fulfilled without offending the divine.
4. Moorthiyagi Thalamagi Munneer Gangai Mudalana,
Theertham Aagi, Arindhariyadha Thirathinaalum Uyirkku Nalam,
Aarthi Naalum Ariyamai Agathi Arivippanyevan Ap Por,
Karunai Ganapathiyai Pugazhndhu Saranam Adaikindrom.
We surrender in devotion to Lord Ganapathi, singing His praise—
He who showed compassion even in battle,
Who has become a sacred idol and a revered pilgrimage site,
Who flows like the holy Ganges, sanctifying all,
And who, through divine wisdom—grasped or not—
Brings peace to the soul and dispels ignorance completely.
5. Cheyyum Vinayin Mudal Yavan, Cheyyapadum Porul Yavan,
Iyam Indri Ulathagum, Andha Karuma Ppayan Yavan,
Uyyum Vinayin Payan Vilaivil Ooti Viduppan Yevan Anda-
Poyyil Irayai Ganapthiyai Purindhu Saranam Adaikindrom.
We surrender to that Lord Ganapathi, realizing Him as the Supreme Divine—
He who is the outcome of all actions, the very essence of all deeds,
Undoubtedly the result that flows from every karma,
And who, after granting us the fruits of our actions, sets us free from them.
6. Vedam Alandhum Arivariya Vikirthan Yavan Vizhuthagaya,
Veda Mudivil Nadam Navilum Vimalan Yavan Vilangu Para,
Nada Mudivil Veethu Irukkum Nadan Yevan Yen Gunan Yevan Ap,
Poda Mudalai Ganapathiyai Pugazhndu Saranam Adaikindrom.
From then on, we shall sing praises and surrender to that divine Ganapathy —
The embodiment of beauty, beyond the grasp of even those who have mastered the Vedas,
Who, at the culmination of Vedic knowledge, appears as the pure One who dances,
The supreme Lord who remains seated in stillness when all sounds of creation fall silent,
And who possesses eight divine qualities.
7. Mannin Oor Ai Iyngunam Aagi Vathivaan Yevan Neer Idai Naanganay,
Nanni Amarvan Yevan Theeyin Moondray Navilvan Yevan Valiyin,
Yennum Irandu Gunamagi Iyaivana Yevan Vanidai Ondram,
Annal Yevan Akkanapathiyi Anbir Saranam Adaikindrom.
O Lord, we lovingly surrender to that divine Ganapathi,
Whose sacred form embodies the five elements of the earth,
Who divides into four and rests within the waters,
Who reveals the threefold truth through fire and becomes dual in the air,
And who merges into a single eternal presence in the vastness of the sky.
8. Pasa Arivil Pasu Arivil, Patharkku Ariya Paran Yaavan,
Pasa Arivum Pasu Ariyum Payila Panikkum Avan Yavan,
Pasa Arivum Pasu Arivum Pothi Melaam Arivaan,
Desan Avan Akkanapathiyai Thigazha Saranam Adaikindrom.
We surrender to that divine Lord Ganapathi,
Who is beyond the grasp of both worldly knowledge and desire-tainted wisdom,
Yet urges us to seek and understand both,
So that He may value our pursuit of truth and guide us through it,
Leading us toward the higher knowledge that elevates the soul.
