Will the Barn of Those Born in Avittam (Dhanishtha) Nakshatra Turn into Gold?

Whenever we talk about Jothidam (Vedic Astrology), many proverbs and beliefs come to mind. In particular, the belief that “The barn/grinder of those born under the Avittam (Dhanishtha) Nakshatra will turn into gold” is very famous.

Many people hear such proverbs and wonder, ‘It happens for everyone in that Nakshatra, why not for me?’ They develop intense positive or negative feelings towards specific constellations.

Here is an astrological truth that must be understood: A person’s birth Nakshatra alone will never determine their life’s outcomes.

The birth Nakshatra helps us only with three basic things:

  1. Calculating the Rasi (Moon Sign): To find out which moon sign you belong to.
  2. Calculating Dasha and Bukti: To calculate which planet’s ruling period (Dasha, Bukti) is currently active in a person’s life.
  3. Knowing Gochara (Transit) Results: To calculate the transit results of important planets like Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu, and Ketu.

A person’s life, activities, relationships, ups, and downs… everything is determined by their individual birth chart at the time of their birth!

  • What was the position of the planets in the sky at the time of birth?
  • What are the conjunctions, aspects, benefic (Subatva), and malefic (Pavatva) influences of those planets?
  • Most importantly, what is the Lagnam (Ascendant – the central point) that rose at the time of birth? What are the 12 houses (Bhavas) derived from it?

Based on the structure of the Lagnam and the 12 Bhavas, all the events that occur in a person’s life, from birth to death, are determined.

Therefore, imagining that ‘simply because you are born in Avittam Nakshatra, all the barn/grinders in your house will turn into gold’ and needlessly worrying if it doesn’t happen is an act of complete superstition.

The results for every human being are not based on the general predictions of the Nakshatra, but solely on the basis of the precise formation of their individual birth chart. Realizing this truth will dispel mental confusion and bring clarity.

Astrology is:
Not to instill fear…
Not to give false hope…
But a science created to make one understand the truth.
